E△SY △S KEN KESEY

I watched a documentary film directed bAcademy Award-winning filmmaker Alex Gibney called Magic Trip; everyone go watch it! The film uses 16 mm color footage of Ken Kesey, Neal Cassady & The Merry Pranksters during their 1964 road trip across the country. Rare scenes of the road-trippers (literally) prancing in nature, dropping paint into puddles to make their own tye-dye, and simply encompassing the free spirit the 60's were famous for. This film is truly a piece of American history. The clip above is my favorite part of the movie where Ken Kesey is explaining his trip. The scene is paired with animation, the only time in the film when this appears, which I found captivating. Enjoy!
